LHC links registration of new schools to school bus policy

LAHORE, DEC 27 (ONLINE): Lahore High Court (LHC) has linked registration of new schools to school bus policy.

The petitions pertaining to elimination of smog came up for hearing in LHC Friday.

The court linked the registration of new schools to school bus policy.

Justice Shahid Karim of LHC remarked during the hearing of the case the provision of buses by school administration to students be made mandatory in the registration of schools. Registration of new buses be stopped. Every school will have to adopt this policy. Policy report in this regard be filed till December 30.

The court inquired during the hearing of the case why the court orders for providing buses to 50 percent children was not implemented. Why the steps were not taken for arranging schools buses for children.

The court remarked secretary schools has violated court’s orders. All teams have been established in connection with fitness certificates of buses.

Member judicial commission told the court ” we have said to MD WASA that water meter work be restarted.

Counsel for WASA said we had problems of money with Chinese company. Chinese companies wanted to get open account here..

Justice Shahid Karim remarked this work has been extremely delayed. It should be started soon. Smog will start again within next month.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till December 30.
