SARGODHA, Jul 03 :Deputy Drugs Controller Dr Faheem Zia led a crackdown on various medical stores in Tehsil Shahpur, resulting in the recovery of a large quantity of illegal medicines.
According to spokesperson here on Thursday, the action was taken on the instructions of the Chief Minister Punjab Drug Task Force, Chief Drugs Controller Punjab and CEO Health Sargodha Dr Sara Safdar.
Dr Faheem Zia said that during the raids, medicines without bills and warranties, narcotics and intoxicating drugs were recovered from medical stores in Shahid Mouza Jhawarian.
He said that the stores were found to be operating without a qualified person, violating the Medical Drugs Act 1976.
The Deputy Drugs Controller took possession of all the illegal medicines and sent a letter to the District Quality Control Board Sargodha for prosecution under the Medical Drugs Act 1976. A challan has been issued to the medical store, and further action is being taken against the violators.
