Emergency plan finalized by Rescue 1122 for Ashura in Multan

MULTAN, Jul 01 : District Emergency Officer Dr Hussain Mian said a comprehensive emergency plan had been finalized for Ashura.
Speaking to the media, he said all rescuers had been placed on high alert, following recommendations approved during a meeting held at the department’s head office.

The Rescue 1122 will ensure timely first aid and emergency services at major Imambargahs, religious gatherings, and mourning processions throughout the district, including tehsils Shujabad and Jalalpur Pirwala.
To reinforce emergency readiness, a “Code Red” will be enforced on the 9th and 10th of Muharram, and leaves for rescue staff had been canceled.
More than 600 rescuers, equipped with modern medical tools, will be deployed during these days.
The arrangements include 35 ambulances and 17 fire vehicles, while 95 motorcycle ambulances will be stationed at key intersections and narrow streets for swift response.
Mobile emergency rescue posts have been established at central locations and major Imambargahs.
Fire vehicles and mobile posts equipped with first aid kits will accompany processions to ensure immediate medical assistance, Dr Hussain Mian added.
Senior officials, including Emergency Officer Admin Engineer Muhammad Bilal, Rescue and Safety Officer Arshad Khan, Control Room In-charge Mudassir Zia, Station Coordinators, and Shift In-charges, will supervise the arrangements.
The Rescue 1122 control room will remain active round-the-clock. Citizens are advised to dial 061-9220305 or contact on-site rescue staff in case of any emergency.
