ATTOCK, August 23 (Online): A large number of people belonging to different walk of life took out a protest rally demanding withdrawl of heavy taxes included in electricity bills.
They kept the main road blocked for hours shouting slogans against the incumbent govt and termed the rulers cruel. They said, an electricity bill has almost eight type of taxes which is beyond comprehension and justification.
They demanded that govt must present justification for these taxes and must also disclose who imposes these taxes and how much revenue is generated from these taxes.
The angry particopants also burnt their electricity bills and rulers were doing nothing for the development of the country and were only busy in imposing taxes on utility bills which has made the life of the people miserable as people are already under the heavy burden of price hike.
They demanded that all the taxes included in electricity bills must be withdrawn. Similar protest rallies were taken out in Fatehjang , Jand and Pindigheb .
