CHINIOT Oct 31 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority’s (PFA)  teams have conducted 151 inspections and imposed fines Rs 1.9 lakhs under the mission of providing safe food in the district.
The safety teams checked langar at Khatim- e- Nabowat conference and food points, the official sources said on Friday.
On the directions of DG Food Authority, 55 milk trucks were inspected during the mission.
During the inspection, poor cleanliness and absence of medical certificates of workers were found at several milk shops, meat points and grocery stores.
The food safety teams destroyed more than 14 kg of expired and prohibited items on the spot.
The sources said that unhealthy food caused stomach and liver diseases, adding the teams were continuing operations to ensure the supply of quality foods to the people.
