HYDERABAD, Dec 05 (APP):The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has deplored that the administrator of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) Fuad Ghaffar Soomro appeared least bothered about the plight of the corporation’s unpaid workers.
In a statement issued here on Monday, the MPAs Rashid Khilji and others said the workers had not been paid their salaries for 2 months owing to which their families were facing starvation.
They said the workers were neither able to pay for the medicines or medical treatment of their family members nor they could bear the expenses of education of their children.
They argued that one of the reasons for the financial problem was that the corporation was being headed by an acting administrator who was actually Deputy Commissioner of Hyderabad, serving the corporation on an acting basis.
They demanded that the Sindh Government should immediately appoint a permanent administrator who could streamline the working of the corporation.
The MPAs warned that if the issue of the unpaid salaries was not resolved on priority, their party would join protests of the workers.
