KPCSW launched its 5 years strategic plan 2022-2026

Peshawar, December 21 (ONLINE): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women launched the report of its 5 years strategic plan from 2022 to 2026.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women (KPCSW) launched its 5 years strategic plan 2022-2026 here on Wednesday December 21, 2022. The Strategic Plan sets the strategic priorities of the Commission for the coming five years in area of advocacy, generating evidence based knowledge and its dissemination, facilitating awareness raising on the mandate of KPCSW and relevant legislative policy frameworks and its own institutional strengthening.

His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Ali Saif, the Special Assistant to Chief Minister KP for information and PRs graced the event as Special Guest. The representatives of government departments, partner organizations, stakeholders, media, academia, provincial election commission, judiciary, lawyers and representatives of various civil society organizations participated in the launch ceremony.

Mr. Muhammad Ali Saif, the Special Assistant to Chief Minister KP for information and PRs in his special Guest remarks, appreciated the role of KPCSW under the leadership of Dr. Riffat Sardar and said that the achievements of KPCSW in reviewing laws, policy and programs into gender Lenz are outstanding. . He mentioned that the KPCSW is a great forum for women issues and their development in the province. He further added that the KP Government has taken several initiatives for the socio-economic and civil development of women in KP and added that without empowering women, we cannot dream of an empowered society

In her remarks, the Chairperson KPCSW, Dr. Riffat Sardar said that the KPCSW under its previous strategic plans demonstrated a significant progress in reviewing the laws, improving collaboration with civil society, academia and research studies, which was revised into the existing one based on the feedback and lesson learnt. She added that KPCSW extends its sphere of work to the district levels and established District Committees in each District, which will perform the same functions in the district as the KPCSW in the province. She informed the audience that the notification of the DCSW is at final stage.

She stated further that the vision is based on existing and emerging ground realities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a way that ensures the wellbeing of women and protect and promote their rights in the province. She hoped that the team of KPCSW will achieve the Goals and targets set in the new strategic plan.

Participants provided input to areas of shared programmatic interests that would be reflected in the upcoming annual work planning of KPCSW.

The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Secretary KPCSW Ms. Robin Haider Bokhari.
