PESHAWAR, Jun 07 (APP):Khyber Pakthunkhwa Integrated Tourism Development (KITE) project has handed over 4×4 fire fighting vehicles to KP Rescue 1122 to provide quick services to people during emergencies.
The vehicles were handed over by Project Director KITE DoT, Tauseef Khalid to Director Planning Rescue 1122 Nasir Khan during a ceremony at Nathiagali in Abbottabad, says a statement of Culture and Tourism Authority here.
Tauseef Khalid said the vehicles were part of ongoing continuous support to facilitate tourists by providing rescue services to them at their doorsteps.
He said it would provide support to Rescue 1122 in performing different rescue and emergency operations in Galiyat.
World Bank assisted KITE Project DoT is working on its objective of building resilience in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by establishing Rescue 1122 stations at different tourist areas of Ayubia, Thandiani, Kumrat, Gabeen Jabba and Kalash and Kaghan.
These stations are built on environment friendly containers and are equipped with specially designed 4×4 ambulances and fire fighting vehicles.
As result of these measures, the number of tourists has increased manifolds at Galiyat, Ayubia and Nathiagali. The establishment of Rescue 1122 and raising of tourism police has made positive impact on tourism in these areas besides hotels and hospitality industries.
