PESHAWAR, Jun 30 :The search operation for a missing child who was swept away by the floodwaters of the Swat River continues for the fourth consecutive day under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Swat, Rafiullah Marwat.
He said on Monday that multiple rescue teams from Rescue 1122 are actively conducting search operations at various points along the river. In addition to the rescue efforts, an anti-encroachment operation along the riverbanks also entered its second day.
The anti-encroachment drive, which began early in the morning, resulted in the demolition of several illegal structures.
Assistant Deputy Commissioner Hamid Khan stated that the operation will continue until all encroachments are completely removed. The operation involves personnel from the Swat administration, TMA, Irrigation Department, police, and Levies. After the bypass area is cleared, the operation will move to the Fizagat side.
Meanwhile, efforts to locate Abdullah, a missing child from Sialkot who disappeared during the Swat tragedy, remain ongoing. Rescue teams and local divers are searching at five designated points along the river. So far, 12 bodies have been recovered from the Swat River.
