PESHAWAR, JAN 04 (ONLINE): One FC personal has been martyred while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Javed Allah Mehsud, along with two other FC personnel, have been injured during firing on vehicles of FC and police in Lower Kurram KP.
Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the attack terming it a conspiracy to sabotage peace efforts. The attack by miscreants was a malicious attempt to disrupt the peace efforts.
He also prayed for the swift recovery of DC Javed Allah Mehsud and the injured FC personnel.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi also condemned the attack on the official convoy terming it failure of district administration.
The authorities said vehicles of police and FC were attacked during intense firing in Lower Kurrum.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Javed Allah Mehsud, and two FC personnel were injured ,
who had been sent to the area to mediate and restore peace by clearing roads. He was immediately transferred to the Tehsil Ali Zai Hospital for treatment . However one FC personal was martyred during treatment.
Three days earlier peace agreement was reached between the rival group due to efforts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and local tribal leaders.
Following the agreement, KP government had sent 75 trucks carrying relief supplies to Kurram
Deputy commissioner had gone there to clear the roads for this convoy when the firing took place.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Advisor Barrister Saif said that Deputy Commissioner Javed Allah Mehsud was injured in the firing but his condition is out of danger.
The convoy of 75 trucks has been stopped near Tal,while volunteers from the Tal Scouts present alongside the trucks.
