ISLAMABAD, Mar 10 (APP): The district administration in Islamabad has introduced a digital system to track petroleum stock in real time at 145 petrol pumps across the city.
The step aims to ensure regular monitoring of fuel supply and to respond quickly in case of shortage. Officials said that the system will allow authorities to check stock levels through the City Islamabad mobile application, where fuel pump transactions and daily stock details will be uploaded.
According to the district administration, the new feature has been added to the City Islamabad App to monitor the availability of petroleum products. Under the system, petrol pump owners must upload their daily stock details on the application. The information will help officials keep track of fuel supply at each station.
Authorities said the digital monitoring system will allow them to review stock data of all 145 petrol pumps in real time. The system will help the administration identify changes in supply and take action if any shortage is reported.
To guide petrol pump owners, the district administration has issued a formal tutorial explaining how to use the new feature. The tutorial provides instructions on uploading stock data and recording fuel transactions on the application.
Officials have made it mandatory for all petrol pumps in the federal capital to submit daily stock updates. The administration has warned that action will be taken against any petrol pump owner who fails to upload the required data.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon said the main purpose of the initiative is to ensure real-time monitoring of petroleum product stocks. He said the system will support the administration in keeping track of fuel supply across the city.
He added that real-time monitoring will help authorities respond quickly if stock levels fall at any station. According to him, the system will also assist in maintaining the availability of fuel at petrol pumps and preventing supply gaps.
The district administration said the initiative is part of efforts to use digital tools for monitoring essential supplies and ensuring that fuel remains available for the public across Islamabad.
