Government Employees announced a protest rally

MARDAN: Office bearers of All Government Employees Grand Alliance and Education Council on Friday announced a protest rally against the government decision abolishing pension and other facilities from the government employees.

In this connection a joint meeting of AGEGA and Education Council was held on the call of AGEGA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was presided over by Chairman Education Council Hafiz Zubair Ahmed.

The meeting was attended by the office bearers of Teachers associations, Officers Association, APCA and other government departments’ employee’s organizations. It was decided in the meeting that on 28th June at all the employees of Mardan district will gather at 9 o’clock in the morning at Government High School No. 2 Bank Road. At 10 o’clock the rally will start toward Mardan press club in front of Mardan Press Club the rally will be changed into a protest meeting. An action committee headed by APCA president Maqbool Shah was formed to make arrangements for the successful protest rally.

It was also decided in the meeting that all school principals and headmasters of Mardan district will participate in rallies with staff members in their schools in a timely manner. Hafiz Zubair Ahmad, Haji Noorzada Khalozai, Sajjad Yousafzai, Ikram Bacha, Usman Sanger, Akhtar Hussain, Hafiz Inam, Maqbool Shah and heads of other organizations addressed the joint meeting. Speakers strongly condemned the government for allegedly abolishing pensions, medical allowance and other incentives in the name of reforms under the pressure of the IMF.

They added that government employees will not accept these cruel decisions and measures of the government of abolishing the constitutional benefits of government employees under the pressure of the IMF. They added that in the name of reforms the government wants to snatched constitutional rights from the government employees.
