Court orders for imposing fine of Rs 2000 on motorcyclists without helmets throughout Punjab

LAHORE, OCT 11 (ONLINE): Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued written order for imposing fine to the tune of Rs 2000 on motorcyclists for not wearing helmets throughout Punjab province.

Justice Shahid Karim of LHC issued the written order on the petitions submitted by a citizen Haroon Farooq and others

In its order the court directed police to impose fine of Rs 2000 on the motorcyclists without helmets all over Punjab.

The court directed the Dolphin Police to monitor the order regarding imposition of fine of Rs 2,000 for those not wearing the helmets.

The court ordered for imposition of Rs 5,000 fine on the people who would wash their vehicles at homes. The court also ordered slapping of fine to the tune of Rs 5,000 on those found parking their vehicles in green belts.
The court directed Dolphin police to conduct monitoring.

The court ordered for growing more Miyawaki forests in the city

LDA will not launch any project in the city without prior permission of the court. LDA will seek guidance from environment department for its development projects.

The court order further said that the respective officers should take action against brick-kilns emitting black smoke and criminal proceedings be initiated against the officers who would not take action against such kilns.
