ISLAMABAD, March 29 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned additional interior secretary level officer today in the petition against interior ministry notification banning Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) police from escorting the GB chief minister to other provinces
The court has also summoned reply from federal government besides remarking ban has been imposed under what law.
The case came up for hearing befoe a single bench of IHC led by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiayani here Wednesday.
The lawyers Mian Ali Ishfaq Qadir Janjua and Ahad Khokhar appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioners.
The court directed the concerned authorities to appear in the court and file the reply today.
It was taken the plea in the petition the interior ministry has imposed ban on Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) police from escorting the GB chief minister to other provinces
Orders were issued regarding security of governor and CM G.B
According to notification the respective province will provide security to governor and CM GB wherever they go.
The petitioner said stopping GB police from escorting CM GB in other provinces is illegal.
The notification based on discriminatory treatment with GB police cannot be issued.
The petitioner has requested the court to declare null and void interior ministry March 24 notification.
