EC reserves judgment on maintainability of petition seeking removal of members of caretaker cabinet

ISLAMABAD, OCT 10 (ONLINE): Election Commission (EC) has reserved judgment on the maintainability of petition seeking removal of members of care taker federal cabinet and principal secretary of care taker Prime Minister (PM).

A five members bench of ED presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) took up the petition for hearing Tuesday.

The petitioner Aziz ud Din Kaka Khel took the plea in the petition that care taker federal ministers Fawad Hassan Fawad and Mashir Ahmad Cheema be removed from their offices.

During the hearing of case member EC Justice (Retd) questioned either Tauqir Shah is retired or serving person.

The counsel for the petitioner said if he dies today then will there be no other man.

CEC said these people have remained on important seats and they are still there. May be they have some compulsion.

The counsel for petitioner said the caretaker setup should be neutral now.

CEC said this is not necessary that those who were in the past government are not neutral.
