ISLAMABAD    –  Prime Minister Imran Khan said Monday that the latest communication by an Indian journalist revealed unholy nexus between Narendra Modi’s government and the India media.

Referring to the revealed chat of Indian journalist Arnab Goswami, the prime minister said on Twitter that Modi-media nexus had led to military misadventurism to win an election in utter disregard for the consequences of destabilising the entire region.

The prime minister said in 2019, he had spoken at United Nations General Assembly on how India’s fascist Modi government used the Balakot crisis for domestic electoral gains.

“Latest revelations from communication of an Indian journalist, known for his warmongering, reveal the unholy nexus between the Modi govt & Indian media that led to a dangerous military adventurism to win an election in utter disregard for the consequences of destabilising the entire region,” the prime minister remarked.

He said Pakistan averted a larger crisis by a responsible and measured response to Balakot incident. “Yet, Modi (government) continues to turn India into a rogue state,” he said.

Imran Khan said Indian sponsorship of terrorism in Pakistan, its abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and a 15-year Indian global disinformation campaign against us all stand exposed. The prime minister said now India’s own media had revealed the dirty nexus that was pushing the nuclearised region to the brink of a conflict it could not afford.

“I want to reiterate that my govt will continue to expose India’s belligerent designs towards Pakistan & Modi govt’s fascism. Int community must stop India from its reckless, militarist agenda before the Modi govt’s brinkmanship pushes our region into a conflict it cannot control,” PM tweeted.

Quick setup of border markets

Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday directed to fast track establishment of border markets along Pakistan’s frontiers with Afghanistan and Iran to provide job opportunities to local people and to control smuggling.

Chairing a review meeting here regarding the establishment of boarder markets along Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan and Iran; he said establishment of these markets is critical for the prosperity of the population living in border areas of Balochistan and merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting was briefed on steps taken so far at the federal and provincial levels for the establishment of proposed border markets to provide improved business facilities, trade promotion and employment opportunities to the local population.

The meeting was apprised of 18 proposed border markets out of which four will be established under the pilot project. Advisor to the PM Abdul Razak Dawood, special assistants Moeed Yusuf, Dr Waqar Masood and Dr Shehbaz Gill, and senior officers were present in the meeting, which was also attended by Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi and senior officers concerned through video-link.

Transforming GB into international tourist place

Separately, speaking to Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid, the Prime Minister appreciated the proposed mega project to transform the entire Gilgit-Baltistan into an international tourist place was discussed at length and directed him to present a comprehensive strategy about the project in February.

During the meeting, mega project to transform the entire Gilgit-Baltistan into an international tourist place was discussed at length. Under the project, all the urban and rural areas of Gilgit-Baltistan will be reorganized as per the master plan.

The project includes provision of basic facilities for tourists at different places in addition to mapping of houses, sewerage system and clean drinking water.

The local population will be provided basic facilities, including quality education and health, on priority basis. The project will also create abundant employment opportunities for the locals.

The project has the potential to transform tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan into a billion dollar industry.

Meanwhile, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman and Saifullah Niazi called on the Prime Minister. Besides, the overall situation and development projects in the provinces, political situation also discussed in the meeting
