ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (Online): District and Sessions Court Islamabad has approved till December 31 interim bail of one Rana Azhar Siddique accused in women harassment case.
The case came up for hearing before Additional Sessions judge Atta Rabbani Thursday. The officer who was suspended from service had resorted to the court.
The counsel for the accused said the petitioner is performing the duty as deputy director of grade -18 in Senate Secretariat. Rana Siddique Azhar has no link with the incident. He is innocent and is being implicated in the case.
The counsel requested the court his client was a respectable citizen and police were trying to arrest him. His bail before arrest plea be accepted.
The court while accepting bail plea of the accused against the surety bonds of Rs 50000 issued notice to police.
The petition was filed by barrister Afnam Zia.
