ISLAMABAD – February 9 (ONLINE): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda on Wednesday discussed his disqualification with Prime Minister Imran Khan, to reportedly dig further way out.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday disqualified PTI Senator Faisal Vawda as a lawmaker over alleged concealment of his dual nationality at the time of contesting the National Assembly election on a Karachi seat in the 2018 general elections.
Soon after the verdict came, Vawda approached Prime Minister Imran Khan and discussed matters related to his disqualification. Sources said that disqualified senator would soon approach legal platform against ECP’s Wednesday’s verdict. Faisal Vawda has sought ECP a copy of verdict.
Federal Minister for information and broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry while reacting to ECP’s decision said that matter was a ‘usual’ one. ECP’s verdicts are often pre-meditated. Party will legally challenge Vawda’s disqualification, he said.
