Suspension of gas supply, low gas pressure have put people in perpetual agony: Senator Sherry Rehman

ISLAMABAD, Jan 07 (Online): PPP leader Senator Sherry Rehman has said gas crisis is raging in the country since the advent of winter and suspension of gas supply and low pressure have put the citizens in perpetual agony.

She said this in a statement issued here Friday. She held gas shortfall has soared to 257 MMCF in the commercial hub of Karachi.

She deplored that the gas is not being provided to citizens even for cooking purposes as well.

The textile industry had to suffer loss to the tune of 250 million dollars in the last month due to non availability of gas, she claimed. Neither the domestic consumers nor industrial consumers are being supplied gas, she added. The prices of LPG cylinders and fire wood are also skyrocketing.
Lashing out the government she said the incumbent government has pushed the country to stone age. The situation will further aggravate if this incompetent government remains in power, she cautioned.
