Supreme Court Practice and Procedure bill becomes law despite court orders

ISLAMABAD, April 21 (Online): Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill has become law despite court’s decision.
National Assembly (NA) Secretariat has issued order to Printing Corporation in connection with gazette notification.

The NA secretariat issued notification following the completion of all phases of acceptance of bill.

According to NA secretariat sources Supreme Court Practice and Procedure bill has become implemented in the form of law.

Under the law the Chief Justice will not be able to take suo motu notice.

A committee comprising three senior judges will be constituted in connection with suo motu notice. Appeal can be filed now against suo motu notice decision. The constitutional petition will be heard by 5-member bench.

The president had sent it back for the second time without signing it.
