The details of the orders in this regard have been issued through court’s decision.
A 5-page decision authored by Justice Athar Minallah has been issued.

The court ordered that the prime minister and chief minister should ensure the laws regarding release on probation are activated.

The court ordered federal and provincial governments to ensure release of all persons entitled to probation.

The court remarked brazen human rights violation are being Committed in jails. It has become next to impossible to provide human rights due to presence of prisoners in jails beyond their capacity. Majority of inmates of jails who are suffering from lack of facilities are poor persons. State too is not playing role to provide inexpensive and early justice to poor people.

The criminal system permits exploitation of the weak segments of society at the hands of influential persons and non administration of justice.

Such miserable condition of jails in the societies running under constitution is intolerable.

It is responsibility of state to safeguard the basic rights of every prisoner.
