Islamabad – January 11 (ONLINE): Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday accepted the appeals filed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government against the acquittal of some accused in the Mashal Khan murder case.
According to details, a three-member bench headed by Justice Maqbool Baqir heard the appeals filed by KPK government on Tuesday.
The apex court also approved provincial government’s plea for hearing demanding increase the sentence of the accused.
The Supreme Court also affirmed hearing of the appeals filed by the accused against their sentences.
It should be noted that 13 accused in the case had filed appeals in the Supreme Court against their indictment by the trial court and Peshawar High Court.
KP government had approached the Supreme Court for increase in sentence of three accused in Mashal Khan murder case and against the acquittal of four accused.
