Special courts will be established under overseas property act

ISLAMABAD, MARCH 17 (ONLINE): Special courts will be established in Islamabad under Overseas Property Act -2024.

Special courts will be set up for early settlement of property disputes of overseas Pakistanis.

Acting Chief Justice (CJ) of Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed to nominate special courts.

Acting CJ has given powers to sessions judges to nominate judges.

In this regard registrar IHC has written letter to secretary law and justice. According to it Session judges East and West will nominate overseas special courts.

It has been said in the letter that keeping in view pending cases and experience of judicial officers, judges be nominated in sessions courts.

The letter said under overseas property act, law ministry should issue notification of east and west sessions.

On the other hand special bench has been constituted in IHC under overseas property act-2024 which will hear cases related to property of overseas Pakistanis.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro will hear cases and appeals regarding properties of overseas Pakistanis.

Deputy registrar has issued notification with the approval of acting chief justice in this regard.
