Lahore December 21 (Online): Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that Tableeghi Jamaat has nothing to do with terrorism. These people have never been involved in such activities, he added.
Khadija Omar, a member of Pakistan Muslim League, sought permission to table a resolution regarding the Tableeghi Jamaat by suspending Rule 115 of Rule 234 of 1997 and other rules regarding rules and regulations of Provincial Assembly Punjab.
Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi read out the resolution of Member Assembly Khadija Omar said that this House of the Punjab Assembly supports the fact that Tableeghi Jamaat and other religious organizations are carrying out their duty of preaching and propagating Islam. Tableeghi Jamaat is an organized and global organization.
Tableeghi Jamaat has nothing to do with terrorism. History has shown that these people have never been involved in such activities till date. They are brightening Pakistan’s name with preaching of Islam all over the world.
This is an organization which includes people of all classes. The Tableeghi Jamaat has given practical proof of brotherhood by eliminating the distinction between rich and poor.
Later, no member opposed the resolution and it was passed unanimously.
