ISLAMABAD, FEB 08 (ONLINE): Former Interior minister Sheikh Rashid has filed bail after arrest petition in the matter of accusing Asif Zardari of plotting to kill Imran Khan.
Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra will hear Sheikh Rashid bail plea today (Thursday).
Bail after arrest plea in respect of Sheikh Rashid has been submitted.
The plea has been taken in the petition that the prosecution leveled false allegation against Sheikh Rashid with the assistance of police. Case was registered against Sheikh Rashid despite suspension of notice by high court. The clauses imposed against Sheikh Rashid in the FIR cannot be imposed on the petition of a common citizen. Sheikh Rashid was subjected to political vengeance.
Police misused powers against Sheikh Rashid. Sheikh Rashid is imprisoned in Adiala Jail. There is no need of further investigation. The court should accept bail plea of Sheikh Rashid and order for his release.
