Sheikh Rashid could not be indicted in allegation against Asif Zardari case

ISLAMABAD. March 02 (Online): Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid could not be indicted on Thursday in the case of Imran Khan alleging Asif Zardari for plotting to assassinate him.

The case came up for hearing in district and sessions court Islamabad.

Sheikh Rashid filed exemption from attendance plea on medical grounds in the court of judicial magistrate Umar Shabbir.

The petitioner took the plea that he was unwell and doctors have advised rest for him. He cannot appear in the court today, therefore, exemption from attendance be granted to him.

The medical report of Sheikh Rashid was also attached with the petition.

The court accepted Sheikh Rashid plea for one day exemption besides fixing March 21 for indictment.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sheikh Rashid was to be indicted on Thursday. The court had directed him to ensure his attendance. Police had filed challan of the case on previous hearing.
