SHC stops police from arresting PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh in further cases

KARACHI, Feb 13 (Online): Sindh High Court (SHC) has stopped police from arresting PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh in further cases.
The petition against arrest of Haleem Adil Sheikh in several cases came up for hearing in SHC Tuesday. The court restrained police from arresting him from further cases.

SHC ordered that Haleem Adil Sheikh be not nominated in any new case or challan.
The court ordered to send copy of order to IG Sindh and Jail superintendent.
The court remarked as per November 2, 2023 police report Haleem Adil Sheikh is nominated in 21 cases. Police was earlier stopped from arresting father of the petitioner without the permission of court.

Justice Naimat Ullah Phulpoto inquired tell us how many more cases have been registered.
Additional Advocate General (AAG) Anwar Mansoor advocate told that overall 21 cases are registered against Haleem Adil Sheikh.
Anwar Mansoor advocate said court has restrained from arresting Haleem Adil Sheikh three time. In one case he seeks bail and in another case he is arrested. Two cases are registered against Haleem Adial Sheikh in ATC. Haleem Adil Sheikh was granted bail and he was again arrested.

AAG further said we cannot think that police go to such an extent. They arrest any one whom they will and they make any one missing on their free will. Where has gone article 9 and 10. Who will provide protection to people. Court should help us and provide protection to people.

The court sought further progress from police and others within 3 weeks.
