SET nullifies ROs decisions, accepts nomination papers of Umair Niazi

RAWALPINDI, January 03 (Online): Special Election Tribunal (SET) comprising justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz of Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench while nullifying the decisions of Returning Officers (ROs) of National Assembly constituencies NA -89 and 90 Mianwali has accepted nomination papers of Umair Niazi advocate, spokesperson of PTI founder.
The court has remarked it is beyond comprehension as to why the ROs rejected nomination papers on small points.

Umair Niazi had filed appeal pleas in SET of LHC Rawalpindi bench against rejection of his nomination papers from NA-89 and 90.

The appeal pleas were filed through barrister Lamia Niazi and Malik Jawad Asghar advocate.

The petitioner had taken the plea in the petition filed against the decisions of ROs that his nomination papers were rejected for the reason that he did not show his one pistol which was owned by him in his assets.

The counsels for the petitioner took the plea that not only license of the pistol was presented to the respective RO in this regard but also this pistol could be shown easily in the assets shown by him.

The court while hearing the stance of respondents nullified the respective ROs decision and declared the nomination papers of the petitioner in order.

The appeal against rejection of nomination papers of PTI founder from NA-89 has been filed in election tribunal of LHC Rawalpindi bench.
