SC rejects plea for reinstatement of pre-maturely retired driver in harassment case

ISLAMABAD, FEB 20 (ONLINE): Supreme Court (SC) while rejecting plea for reinstatement of a pre-maturely retired driver in harassment case has remarked women fall victim to harassment more than men.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of SC issued important decision regarding harassment.

The decision said millions of people are affected by harassment on work places, Women are affected more than men by harassment.
According to Global Gender Gap Index -2024 Pakistan is at 145 number among 146 countries in the world.

As per text of the decision US Supreme Court said in a decision hostage environment too falls in the definition of harassment.

Lady Doctor Sidra resorted to Punjab Mohtasib against her driver on the matter of harassment.

Mohtasib awarded punishment to driver of pre-mature retirement.

Lahore High Court had (LHC) rejected the plea against premature retirement.

Driver sent representation to governor Punjab which was rejected.

SC has rejected the petition against LHC decision and upheld decision of Mohtasib.
