ISLAMABAD, MARCH 21 (ONLINE): Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench has adjourned hearing of contempt of court plea filed by government against Imran Khan for indefinite period owing to absence of counsel.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail has remarked petitioner job is providing information in contempt of court case. Information have reached the court. Now government job is finished.
A five members constitutional bench of SC presided over by Justice Amin ud Din Khan took up the contempt of court plea for hearing Friday.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail inquired if the contempt of court proceedings is initiated then Attorney General (AG) office is prosecutor. The services of senior lawyer Suleman Aslam Butt have been hired in this case. Suleman Aslam Butt is not available.
The hearing of the case was adjourned for indefinite period due to non appearance of Suleman Aslam Butt.
It is pertinent to mention here government had filed contempt of court plea against Imran Khan in June 2022.
