Saturday holiday restore, 40% fuel cut, ban new vehicles: cabinet

ISLAMABAD 07 June (Online): Fist tight; Saturday holiday restored, 40% fuel cut and ban on buying new vehicle, recruitment, official lunch, dinner and high teas imposed in cabinet meeting yesterday (Tuesday).

Sub-committee will be made to decide on early closing of markets.
Cabinet meeting led by PM Shehbaz Sharif has discussed various plans to reduce electricity load shedding hours.

Maryum Aurangzeb told in briefing after the cabinet meeting that, electricity demand is 28400 Megawatt, in which 2700Megawatt goes in feeders functioning on lose after which the total demand remains 25600megawatt and the supply is 21000megawatt, all this show that supply demand gap is 4600megawatt.

Cabinet meeting approved three and half hours daily load shedding till 6 to 15 June.

From 16 June 600Megawatt will be added from Sahiwal coal power plant.
From 16 to 24 June the load shedding duration will go down to three hours, said Maryum.

From 25 to 29 June, Karachi power plant K-2 start production to add 1040megawatt to the total production, due to which will reduce load shedding to 2 and half hours.

On 30 June Port Qasim coal plant will add 600megawatt to bring load shedding to 2 hours.

She also told that Saturday holiday will add 386 million annual to the budget.

She also added that committee has been made consider Friday as work from home day.

She said PML-N has solved load shedding issue in last government while PTI did nothing due to which issue raised again.

Report on Daska election rigging has also been presented in the cabinet in which members expressed concern on lower staff which is responsible for that rigging is still on working on their posts.
