Sales tax fraud of Rs 3.20 billon case: IHC approves bail of co-accused in sum of Rs 100

ISLAMABAD, JAN 01 (ONLINE): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has approved bail of co-accused in Sales tax fraud of Rs 3.20 billion in the sum of Rs 100.
The court has declared tax department criminal proceedings as power overshoot in co-accused bail matter in this case.
The court has too declared rejection of bail of the accused from subordinate court a matter of shame.
The court ordered that chairman FBR should distribute copies of decisions IHC and Lahore High Court among tax officers. Tax officials should initiate criminal proceedings about sales tax in the light of decision of Taj international case. The legal powers delegated to public officials and police powers be used as per law.

Justice Babar Sattar issued 10-page decision in regard to approval of bail besides ordering to send copy of the decision of the court to chairman FBR.
The court also indicated for taking action against tax officials on violation of law in future.
