Due to the country’ geographical importance, there is international pressure on Pakistan because one has to go through Pakistan to get somewhere ( it is main land route or source to connects other countries) , so development and peace and stability in Pakistan do not suit some people, he said while talking to a private news channel morning programme.

Keeping in view the prevailing situation in Afghanistan, he said Pakistan was installing electronic system on Torkham and Chaman for better border security arrangements as Pakistan having 88 percent border boundaries with Afghanistan, whereas with Iran 46 to 48 percent of the area has been fenced which will be completed this year.

Replying to a question regarding the Azad Kashmir elections, he said that a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would form the government, adding neither the PPP could succeed there and the PML-N would lag far behind.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would visit Rawlakot, Mirpur and Muzaffarabad after July 2, during which PTI election rallies would show who the people are with and PPP politics in Azad Kashmir would end.

Replying to a question on Bilawal Bhutto calling the Prime Minister a security risk, Sheikh Rashid said that it was a great tragedy in Pakistan that politicians did not realize the responsibility of their words.

He said that the game of misleading has become very much in Pakistan, politicians do not dare to talk on the ground realities.

In another query, about not giving bases to the United States, he said that the doors of dialogue should not be closed, Pakistan wants to take the whole world along.

Commenting about Pakistan’s continued presence of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on the gray list, Sheikh Rashid said that the Interior Ministry had worked hard in this regard but it was unfortunate that extremists made such statements. France has reservations about it.
