Punjab police make request to LHC for arresting Imran Khan

LAHORE, MAY 12 (ONLINE): Punjab Police have made request to the Lahore High Court (LHC) for arresting Imran Khan in 121 cases.

The court while directing Imran Khan to resort to the respective courts adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.

The petition seeking clubbing of all cases against Imran Khan came up for hearing before a 5-mmeber bench of LHC presided over by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi. The other members of bench are Justice Aalia Neelum, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh, Justice Anwar ul Haq Pannu and Justice Amjad Rafiq.

Imran Khan took the plea cases are being registered against him all over Punjab. He is facing serious life threats.

Through the petition the court was requested to order for clubbing all the cases against Imran Khan.

The court has sought report regarding investigation of all the cases.

It has been said in the report 29 cases are registered against Imran Khan in Islamabad and 6 in Punjab. Imran Khan has been declared innocent in two cases.

The counsel for Punjab government said 3 more cases have been registered against Imran Khan after riots in Punjab.

Counsel for Punjab government presented the FIR of the three cases in the court. Overall 9 cases have been registered against Imran Khan so far in Punjab.

Punjab Police have filed report whereby the court was told Imran Khan has joined the investigation in the cases registered against him. Arrest of Imran Khan is wanted to obtain evidences in respect of the cases registered against him.

The court while directing Imran Khan to approach the respective courts adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.
