Punjab governor asks PTI leadership to hold talk with Tarin, Aleem Khan

Lahore, March 09 (Online): Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has advised the party leadership to hold talks with Jahangir Khan Tarin and Abdul Aleem Khan and said that it is the responsibility of the leadership to keep the party united.

As long as Usman Bazdar has the support of the Prime Minister, party members, and allies, he will remain the Chief Minister. Prime Minister Imran Khan has the power to remove and appoint anyone.

It is the responsibility of the opposition to gather the 172 members in the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister. There should be no horse-trading as it is detrimental to democracy.

He stated this while addressing the media after the inauguration of an exhibition at Expo Center Lahore on Wednesday. Chaudhry Sarwar said that Tehreek-e-Insaf always makes decisions by keeping the interest of the country supreme, adding that due to the successful economic policies of the government, the economic sector is not only strengthening in Pakistan but also the international economic institutions are acknowledging this development.

He said that the government has a clear policy with regards to the foreign investors that they will be given full support to invest in Pakistan, adding that the foreign investment in Pakistan is increasing in every sector due to the prudent policies of the government.

Answering political questions, he said that it is the right of the opposition to bring no confidence motion but the opposition should not do horse-trading because it is not in interest of democracy and parliamentarians.

We believe in the rule of law and democracy, he added. He said that whatever happens in accordance with the constitution and law in a democratic way, no one can object to it.

While commenting on current political scenario, he said that as far as the opposition’s no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan is concerned, it is the responsibility of the opposition to complete the number, adding that it remains to be seen that how they get the support of 172 members.

This decision will now be made in the Parliament and whatever the Parliament decides, it should be accepted by all.

Replying to a question about Jahangir Khan Tareen and Abdul Aleem Khan, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that he has advised the party leadership to talk to Jahangir Khan Tareen and Abdul Aleem Khan as both have served the party.

It is the responsibility of the party leadership to keep the party united. He maintained that the party is like a family and differences within the party are harmful to the party. We have to protect and strengthen the party.

The Governor, in reply to a question about Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, said that as long as Usman Buzdar has the support of Prime Minister Imran Khan, party members, and allies, he will remain the Chief Minister of Punjab. The Prime Minister has the authority to appoint and topple any one as Chief Minister of the Punjab, he added.
