PTI, PML-N not agreed over Elahi’s Chief Minister-ship: Ch Shujat

LAHORE – March 1 (ONLINE): Former Prime Minister and PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujat said Tuesday ruling PTI and the PML-N were not accepting PML-Q leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi as the Punjab’s Chief Minister.

As per the ‘inside story’ of meeting between PML-Q and Jamat-e-Islami (JI) heads, possibility of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi becoming province’s Chief Minister was discussed during the meeting.

Parvez Elahi is currently the Speaker of Punjab Assembly, while his party has steered center-stage in country’s ‘number game politics’.

Replying to a question, Chaudhry Shujat said PTI and PML-N did not want Parvez Elahi to become Punjab’s Chief Minister. “Both parties fear return of their members back to the PML-Q ranks” he added.

Shujat further said that Punjab’s largest parties also feared re-emerge of PML-Q, but matters could get feasible soon, he said however.
