PTI petition seeking permission to hold public meeting: LHC directs DC to decide matter till today

LAHORE, OCT 12 (ONLINE): Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed Deputy Commissioner (DC) to decide the matter regarding permission to PTI for public meeting in Liberty Chowk till today (Friday).

The petition came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Raheel Kamran Thursday.

During the hearing of the case the court inquired from counsel for Punjab government tell us what is problem. Why the permission has not been given so far.

Justice Raheel Kamran while directing DC to decide the application remarked DC should decide the matter till Friday and tells the court permission has to be given or otherwise. If permission has not to be given then on what grounds it has not to be given.

It is pertinent to mention here Azim Ullah, PTI central Punjab additional secretary had resorted to LHC in connection with October 15 public meeting in Liberty Chowk.

The petitioner had taken the plea he gave application to DC to seek permission to hold public meeting in Liberty Chowk on October 15. DC has not given any decision so far.

The petitioner requested the court to allow PTI to hold public meeting in Liberty Chowk.
