ISLAMABAD, APRIL 08 (ONLINE): PTI while declaring election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman Senate taking place today (Tuesday) unconstitutional has decided to boycott it.
The proposal for challenging the election in the court is also under consideration.
Core Committee sources said House of federation is incomplete. The election of chairman and deputy chairman Senate is unconstitutional. Without electing KP senators the election of chairman Senate is against constitutional scheme. The Senate is dysfunctional in the absence of chairman. Senate secretariat can take no decision except administrative decisions. Secretary Senate cannot interpret the constitution on his own under pressure.
Core committee sources have said Upper house stands limited only to the position of a department without chairman Senate.
The Senate became dysfunctional for the first time during democratic era Constitutional scheme was trampled.
