ISLAMABAD, JAN 25 (ONLINE): PTI has challenged 26th constitutional amendment in Supreme Court (SC).
PTI has requested the SC to declare 26th constitutional amendment null and void.
The court has also been prayed to stop Judicial Commission (JC) from appointing judges till the decision of petition against the 26th constitutional amendment.
The petition said all the steps taken under 26th constitutional amendment be annulled . Parliament cannot change the basic contours of the constitution. Independence of judiciary is basic ingredient of the constitution. No amendment can be made against independence of the judiciary. Constitutional amendment is against the constitutional principle of distribution of powers.
