Provision of interest free loan to judges: LHC directs petitioner to file petition again with attested documents

LAHORE,SEP 11 (ONLINE): Petition filed against approval of interest free loan of Rs 360 million for 11 judges of high court came up for hearing in Lahore High Court (LHC) Monday.

The court directed the petitioner to file the petition again after removing the objections.

Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard the petition filed by Mashkoor Hussain.
Chief Secretary, secretary finance and others have been made respondents.

Nadeem Sarwar counsel for petitioner took the plea providing interest free loan to judges is illegal. Judges are already enjoying too much facilities and privileges. The caretaker government cannot utilize tax money of people mercilessly.

The counsel requested the court to nullify the loans approved by caretaker government for judges. The court should declare the step for providing interest free loan to judges illegal. Provision of interest free loan to judges be suspended till the final decision of this petition.

The court removed objection of registrar office on applicant as affected party.

The court directed the petitioner to attach authentic documents about provision of interest free loan to judges with his petition.
