Prime Minister wants to strengthen national institutions: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD, Mar 20 (APP): Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Sunday said Prime Minister Imran Khan was the popular political leader of the country as he wanted to strengthen the national institutions.

Talking to a private news channel, he urged vote sellers should be disqualified for the whole life, adding disgruntled members were contacting with the government to return to the party.

The minister said inflation was the reality but the government was making efforts to reduce it, adding the national exports were increasing, foreign remittances were enhancing, farmers were getting bumper crops, industrial sector was flourishing due to prudent policies of the incumbent government.

Replying to a question, he said Pakistan was a peaceful country and strongly believed in peace and it would never bend its knees before any country.

He said the opposition knew very well that the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers was going to be held on March 22-23, they had deliberately submitted their no-trust move in these specific dates.

Asad Umar said the prime minister had always highlighted the issue of Islamophobia at every international fora in an effective manner and the United Nations had passed its resolution and declared March15, as Islamophobia Day.

He said the government would hold historical political gathering at D-Chowk in Islamabad on March 27 and it had already submitted its application before the administration for the purpose.

Asad Umar said the opposition did not submit its application for holding its political gathering in the federal capital yet.
