President has no powers to take any action on Imran Khan letter: Govt sources

ISLAMABAD, Nov 08 (Online): The letter addressed to president Arif Alvi by Imran Khan is meaningless and the president has no powers to take any action on this letter, say government sources.

The sources added president is bound to Prime Minister (PM) advice for any step. President Arif Alvi can dump this letter in rubbish basket.

Sources further said the situation will come under control ahead of Saudi crown prince visit to Pakistan this month. Imran Khan protest march will end before Saudi crown prince visit.

The plea given by army seeking legal proceedings is being reviewed.

The direct action will be taken on the plea given by army after PM return from Egypt. Government is also under tremendous pressure from its own party for taking decisive steps on prevailing situation of the country.
