PPP rejects summary of likely increase in the price of petroleum products from Rs 5 to 6: Sherry Rehman

ISLAMABAD, Jan 15 (Online): PPP central leader Senator Sherry Rehman has said her party rejects the summary of likely hike in the price of petroleum products from Rs 5 to 6 per liter.

“If they are sympathizer of people then it should reject OGRA summary”, she said this in a statement issued here Saturday.

The poor masses are worried for earning two times bread and due to disastrous inflation, she held. Inflation is on rise due to hike in the price of petroleum products after every 15 days, she added.

According to Statistical Bureau the inflation ratio has soared to 20.89 percent for poor masses, she indicated. A record increase has been recorded in the prices of 16 essential commodities before mini budget.

The hike in price of petroleum products will put burden on the loc income group, she said adding every citizen will reject enhancement in the prices of petroleum products.
On the other hand the prices of medicines are feared to increase by 200 percent following the hike in the prices of petroleum products.

The mafia has taken away medicines from the market to benefit from hike in the prices, she remarked.

What steps government is taking to overcome this artificial medicine crisis, she questioned. The negative effects of mini budget have started coming just now, she added.
