KARACHI 16 April (Online): Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Hafiz Naeemur- Rahman has said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Sindh government are afraid of JI’s victory in the local government elections on 11 leftover seats to be held on May 7.
Speaking at an Iftar party in New Karachi UC-13 he alleged that the opponents were attempting to rig the polls to increase their numbers.
The JI Karachi chief urged the people to participate fully in the May 7 elections to prevent the PPP from further destroying Karachi.
He claimed that PPP tampered the voter lists by registering fake voters and changing polling stations.
He said that the JI mayor would rebuild the city, become the true voice of the people, and stand firm against the PPP-led Sindh government.
Rahman said that more than 50 per cent of the population was not counted in many areas, including Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
He further claimed that the Sindh government had committed the worst fraud by concealing thousands of statistical block codes in the house census through the deputy commissioners, as part of a special agenda to reduce the actual and real population of Karachi.
Muhammad Yousuf, the nominated Vice- Chairman candidate for UC13, also addressed the gathering, along with District Amir North, Muhammad Irfan, Information Secretary Zahid Askari, North Karachi Nazim Ali Arshad, nominated candidate for Chairman Muhammad Rafi, and others.
Rahman accused the Sindh government wants to seize the powers and resources of Karachi and keep it under its control.
He stated that MQM, PPP, and Sindh government were equally involved in a conspiracy to understate the population of Karachi in the census.
Thousands of block codes were missing due to the worst rigging and forgery in the census, and many floors in flats and high-rise buildings were not counted, rendering the entire census meaningless.
