Police fires tear gas on protestors in Islamabad

Islamabad police on Wednesday briefly fired tear gas to disperse the govt employees, protesting against lack of salary increments.

Seven leaders of the protesters have been arrested outside the secretariat while the raids to restrain others are still undergoing. The law and order enforcing administration of the Federal capital has taken measures to control the protestors from destroying public property, while numerous local roads of the city have been blocked by placing containers.

Adequate measures by Islamabad police were taken since the employees announced a sit-in protest at D-Chowk.

It is pertinent to be stated here that General Secretary Capital Development Authority Labour Union (CDLA) Amanullah and Chairman Izhar Abbasi were taken under police arrest a day earlier.
