ISLAMABAD – July 18 (ONLINE) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday thanked his party’s leaders and workers for their “tireless” efforts during the whole party campaign for by polls on twenty Punjab Assembly (PA) seats.
PM’s party, along with a support of collation parties, however succumbed to massive defeat at the hands of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s PTI party. Out of twenty provincial assembly seats, Shehbaz’s PML-N could win only 4, in comparison with Imran’s PTI, which bagged 15.
“I am thankful to PML-N’s party leaders and workers for their tireless efforts during the by-polls,” Shehbaz Sharif wrote in a twitter statement on Monday.
“Maryam Nawaz lead a brilliant electoral campaign for party,” he said, adding that “Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz and his Punjab government should be congratulated for holding peaceful by-elections.”
