ISLAMABAD, MAY 30 (Online): Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Monday has issued directives for reviving the HEC and not curtailing its budget in the financial year for 2022-23.
The PM has directed that HEC be restored on the lines it was functioning during PML-N previous tenure.
PM has issued these directives to ministry of planning and finance.
He held that the cut made in the budget of HEC during the last about 4 years has left negative impact on higher education. This process should be reversed, he added.
Focus should be placed on the restoration of educational projects in the universities all over the country, he urged.
Harmonizing the higher education with international standard, the number of programs be increased, he underlined.
PM directed that HEC budget be not reduced and the resources of HEC be enhanced. All possible facilities be provided to students and teachers, he stressed.
