Parliament to go to any length to protect its authority: Maryam Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD 02 May (Online): Federal minister of information Maryum Aurangzeb said on Tuesday transparent and fair system has been made through legislation.

In a statement she said no one can take away the constitutional authority of legislation from parliament. Parliament has the right to protect and defend its rights.

Judiciary have no right to write or rewrite constitution or ban the right of legislation of parliament, she added.

She further said Parliament did legislation on the demand of lawyers’ community, bar councils and other associations.

Regarding article-184(3) she said no jurisdiction of judiciary was cut down.

She said this legislation will end the objections like ‘one man show’ and ‘imperial court’.

Three senior most judges will use power through consultation, she added.
