WASHINGTON, Dec 11 : Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, continued his contacts at Capitol Hill on Tuesday when he held separate meetings with four US lawmakers to discuss the possibility of boosting investment and trade between the two countries.
With Congressman Rich McCormick, a Republican, he shared perspectives on further strengthening Pak-US bilateral relations, , according to a Pakistani embassy press release. The conversation focused on expanding avenues of economic interaction and security cooperation.
They also exchanged views on issues of regional as well as of global significance.
With Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, a Democrat, Ambassador Sheikh discussed bilateral relations and ways to have more people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and the US.
He invited her to lead a Texas business delegation to Pakistan in 2025, and the Congresswoman accepted it, in principle.
Ambassador Sheikh and Congressman Earl ‘Buddy’ Carter, a Republican, besides discussing bilateral ties, also
explored the possibilities of deeper engagement and collaboration with the state of Georgia in the economic domain.
The Pakistani envoy also met Congressman Neal Dunn, a Republican, exchanging views on the broad spectrum of Pak-US bilateral relations.
They also discussed enhanced cooperation and engagement on trade, investment, IT and agriculture with Florida.
