Pakistan has reported 28 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 553,128. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 11,914 on Saturday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 1,286 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
Till now 250,043 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 160,162 in Punjab 68,180 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 41,819 in Islamabad, 18,849 in Balochistan, 9,160 in Azad Kashmir and 4,915 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore 4,854 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,066 in Sindh, 1,948 in KP, 478 in Islamabad, 270 in Azad Kashmir, 196 in Balochistan, and 102 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 8,155,766 coronavirus tests and 33,319 in the last 24 hours. 508,700 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,908 patients are in critical condition.
